Hello Again!
First of all, apologies for not updating in so long. Over a couple of weeks ago our dog was hit by a truck. He has been home recuperating ever since. Short version- it was scary there for a while but everything is much better with "Hopalong" Chuck here.
Many changes to report. Due to a scheduling conflict with Cayuga Nature Center, our fundraiser was canceled. We have retooled (forgive the slight pun) and we are going to have a work party with an equal emphasis on both words. More details later today.
Tree stumps have appeared at the garden. Bridgid is going to place them in a circle to use for outside circle times! Imagine it!
The first of many field trips happened to Frank's house. Frank's parents, Frank and Sigrid Popowich have opened their land for garden materials. A fun time was had tromping through the woods and some beautiful paving stones where brought back. Thank you Frank, Sigrid and Frank!
The soon to be baby chick eggs are here! Check out the incubator outside the toddler room interior door. Yay!
More later today.......
Thanks to everyone for their patience and thoughts.

Stop by Natural Beginnings

Natural Beginnings is partnering with us to provide a local garden shop that will carry many of the items we need. Natural Beginnings has long been committed to organic, sustainable and local means of garden and landscaping. Any item purchased here can either then be donated at the school or left here for pick up. They are located close to the new garden at 1603 Trumansburg Rd (Hwy 96 towards Tburg), Ithaca. Thank you so much for being a part of this!
First ground breaking yesterday!
Did you see what happened? The earth literally moved! We have Chaw Chang from Stick and Stone Farm to thank! Chaw and Lucy have been wonderfully supportive with their generosity of material, knowledge and enthusiam. They have 39 of their own acres of organic farm to manage but Chaw took the time yesterday to plow our space before today's rain fell. I can't tell you how many parents I ran into today smiling about the change, the forward movement into Spring and the beginning of a garden......
